Senior Mine Closure Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mine Closure Expert to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with advanced knowledge of mine closure practices, environmental regulations, and engineering principles. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to support the delivery of high-quality mine closure services.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, geology, or environmental sciences. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in preparing mining project approval applications, technical report writing, and peer review.
In this role, you will work closely with our operations team to develop innovative solutions to complex mine closure challenges. You will also lead in the development of closure costings, cost estimation, and scheduling, as well as provide leadership and strategic direction within integrated mine closure projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Applying advanced understanding of environmental and engineering principles to progress and lead the delivery of new approaches to solve basic problems.
- Providing leadership, training, and technical guidance to the operations team.
- Collating and assisting in the preparation of technical documentation, proposals, and reports.
- Providing peer and technical review of reports developed by others.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering (civil, geotechnical, environmental, geo-environmental) or Science (geology, environmental science).
- Experience in mine closure and remediation, either within Oceania or overseas.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to coordinate with staff and clients in different time zones.
