Transformational Leader: Project Management Office

The role of a Transformational Leader: Project Management Office is pivotal in overseeing the financial and resource management operations of an organisation.

  • Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, purchase orders, and annual audits to ensure organisational efficiency.

  • Oversee resource allocation across squads, ensuring resources are aligned with strategic objectives and budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor squad performance, identifying areas where teams are under- or over-utilised, and reallocate resources efficiently.
  • Coordinate the new financial year process, including detailed audit and budget review, to drive organisational effectiveness.
  • Challenge and validate financial inputs from stakeholders to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports, spreadsheets, and charts for senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Ensure high-quality documentation, reports, and packs – delivering them ahead of deadlines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and value in PMO operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in PMO management with a focus on financials and resource planning.
  • Strong attention to detail, able to identify inconsistencies in numbers, charts, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated success in budgeting for large-scale transformation programs (over $10m).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills at senior and executive levels.
  • Experience in auto finance, loans, or similar financial services sectors.
  • Background in scale-up or mid-tier organisations with a strong track record of financial management.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to own and deliver responsibilities end-to-end.
