Job Overview

The Patient Safety and Clinical Excellence Coordinator role plays a pivotal part in developing a culture of continuous improvement. This involves prioritizing patient safety and clinical excellence to achieve performance targets and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring incident management systems including undertaking incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Coaching and supervising staff to undertake incident investigation using agreed methodology.
  • Supporting mortality and morbidity reviews.
  • Leading clinical risk management initiatives.
  • Engaging clinical leaders in patient safety initiatives.
  • Developing clinical and performance indicators and audits.
Requirements:
  • Graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline or health services management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of hospital accreditation processes such as National Standards for Safety and Quality in Healthcare.
  • Experience in managing complex healthcare organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand change and dynamics of large complex health care organizations.
  • Advanced data management skills and ability to extract meaningful reports from incident reports.
  • Project management experience.
  • Computer literacy and advanced skills in Excel and databases.
