About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Traffic Engineer to lead and manage local subcontractors and traffic management suppliers, ensuring performance outcomes and delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in traffic management, with experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing traffic switches, road access, and stakeholder access arrangements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing traffic management plans in accordance with VicRoads / DoT Victoria standards from concept through to completion.
  • Communicating with DoT Victoria, VicRoads, councils, and stakeholders to deploy project traffic changes.
  • Preparing comprehensive weekly, monthly, and milestone reports, including cost management, progress analysis, and recommendations.
  • Providing technical leadership to site teams and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Managing procurement, resources, and budgets within the traffic management scope.
  • Ensuring quality management, documentation, and compliance with Victorian traffic standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
  • Senior-level traffic management experience in construction / infrastructure.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Victorian traffic management standards and VicRoads / DoT Victoria protocols.
  • Extensive experience with major infrastructure projects, preferably rail or transportation.
  • Proven leadership abilities and stakeholder management across all levels.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities in dynamic construction environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports and executive briefings.
