Coolaroo South Primary School and Kindergarten is a well-established educational institution situated in a residential area in the City of Hume.
The school offers a comprehensive program for students from Foundation to Year 6, as well as a playgroup through its community hub. Our kindergarten programs are managed by Northern Schools Early Years Cluster.
We have excellent facilities, including 13 well-resourced classrooms, staff offices, and spaces for small teaching groups. With an enrolment of 260 students and a staff of 49, including 2 principal class, 21 teaching staff, and 26 education support staff, our school is committed to providing a safe and efficient working environment.
Our commitment to improving student achievement is evident in our academic program, which is devised to meet individual needs. We implement inquiry cycles using Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and the Extending Mathematical Understanding (EMU F-2) intervention model.
We aim to connect all members of the community to learning through our community hub, engaging parents in courses and programs preparing them for life in Australia. The school is organised into single classes whenever possible, providing instruction in Physical Education, Visual and Performing Arts, Science, STEM, and weekly Arabic immersion classes for mother tongue students.
Student wellbeing continues to be a high priority for our staff. A Play Therapist and student counsellor are employed to work individually with students experiencing social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
