Job Overview

The Procurement Portfolio Strategist – Capital Delivery will drive optimal strategic procurement and commercial outcomes, providing leadership and governance counsel on capital delivery projects.

You'll partner on strategic design and application of procurement processes across Seqwater growth and development projects.

As an expert in major project development and Queensland Government legislation, you'll bring thought leadership to drive continuous improvement and a sustainable business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic procurement advice while maintaining governance and consistency with procurement policies.
  • Lead early engagement of procurement and planning for major projects, including risk assessment, strategy development, and implementation of commercial processes.
  • Develop comprehensive, data-driven category management strategies aligning with business goals, analysing market trends, supplier landscapes, and internal needs.
  • Establish long-term plans for each category, setting clear objectives and performance metrics.
  • Lead supplier performance management by conducting regular reviews, implementing scorecards, and ensuring alignment with business goals.

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

Essentials

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, law, finance, or business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in complex contractual arrangements, sourcing methodologies, and capital-intensive environments.
  • Extensive experience in commercial roles within the construction industry, particularly in large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Contract management experience from a supplier's and customer's perspective, with knowledge of Australian contract law.
  • Experience managing supplier and customer relationships.
  • Leadership and management experience in procurement activities related to large-scale infrastructure projects.

Estimated Salary: AU$140,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our salary range reflects the competitiveness of the market and the skills required for this role.
