Job Overview

The role of Sand Mining Manager is to direct and control efficient and safe open-pit mining and processing operations at the site, in accordance with company policies and associated statutory laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directing and controlling open-pit mining and processing operations
  • Managing Principal Mining Hazards
  • Enforcing safety procedures and compliance
  • Ensuring safe operation of equipment and plant
  • Leading inductions and training for staff and contractors
  • Conducting audits and driving continuous safety improvements
  • Leading mining, production, and operational activities across the site
  • Managing scheduling, inventory, and maintenance to ensure efficient output
  • Enforcing safety, environmental, and quality standards

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in mining, quarrying, manufacturing, mineral processing, engineering, or a closely related production environment
  • A proven track record of successful supervision and leadership
  • A valid Workplace First Aid Certification
  • Current licenses and tickets to drive and/or operate company-owned vehicles, plant, or equipment
  • Knowledge of basic Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of Budget and Cost control
