Market Conduct Lawyer Role

The Market Conduct team oversees the behavior of market participants to ensure Australia's financial markets operate with integrity and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct surveillance, intelligence gathering, and project work to identify risks and assess compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze market activity and provide evaluation and guidance on technical and policy issues.
  • Undertake research and contribute internal advice, reports, and briefings for regulatory matters.
  • Contribute to wider ASIC projects and activities which may lead to the drafting of regulatory updates, guidance and media releases.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Experience in compliance, risk, or analysis of regulatory issues in a financial services environment.
  • Knowledge of the Corporations Act, market integrity rules, and Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) conditions as they apply to financial services intermediaries.
  • Ability to interpret complex information and apply it to regulatory matters.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset, adaptability, and relationship-building skills.
