Cancer Care Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cancer Care Specialist to provide expert clinical guidance and leadership within our Oncology Coordination team. This vital role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality cancer care while promoting best practices and supporting both patients and healthcare professionals in the community.

  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary ward service, collaborating with all interdisciplinary teams within the region.
  • Provide advanced clinical leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health professionals in cancer care.
  • Initiate and evaluate research to establish and promote clinical best practices in oncology.
  • Develop, implement, and promote evidence-based standards and policies compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of staff to build a strong oncology team.
Key Qualifications
  • Extensive clinical/professional knowledge in oncology specialty
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Sound understanding of human resource principles
  • Knowledge of quality improvement and patient safety principles
  • Eligibility for a current C or C-A Class Drivers licence
  • Progress towards a postgraduate qualification in oncology is desirable
