Heavy Equipment Technician

This role is responsible for the installation, overhaul, and maintenance of mechanical features on generating assets and auxiliary plant.

About The Position

An exciting opportunity exists for a full-time Heavy Equipment Technician to support our team in South Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, overhauling, and performing maintenance tasks on Cummins QSK60 and KTA50 diesel engines and auxiliary mechanical plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance on heavy equipment and auxiliary plant.
  • Identify, report, and repair defects with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Undertake tasks such as welding, fabrication, lubrication, hydraulics, and machining.
  • Contribute to and execute day-to-day work plans to ensure on-time delivery of the work plan.
  • Maintain records by completing all administrative requirements and using maintenance management systems.
Requirements
  • A Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or a relevant Diesel trade certificate.
  • Previous experience as a qualified mechanic.
  • Knowledge and experience in repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics within a power generation environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and determine root cause failures on plant and equipment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to establish constructive working relationships.
  • Commitment to the highest standard of health and safety performance.
