We are seeking a skilled and experienced Virtual Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join our team in Djibouti.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is passionate about supporting vital missions worldwide by providing communications and IT services to international joint force commands.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of VI environments and the continued operation of a large-scale VI deployment.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement data center infrastructure network engineering solutions on a geographically dispersed enterprise network.
- Provide engineering efforts throughout the lifecycle of projects, including documentation, design, build, integrate, transition, implementation, test, and training for transitioned to IT Operations Management.
- Analyze and provide recommendations for hardware and software life cycle and standardization for the enterprise, recommending best-practice solutions for datacenter and virtual infrastructure technologies.
- Work in a dynamic fast-paced environment requiring team interaction and coordination of efforts, including remote site support and/or travel to customer servers and sites as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 3 years' experience in virtual infrastructure systems engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- VMWare Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VPC-DCV).
- CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater).
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Server 2016.
- Engineering background in design, implementation, and migration of Data Center technologies, including Cisco NEXUS products, Cisco UCS, Cisco UCS Manager, Fabric Interconnects, NETAPP storage solutions/SAN configurations, FCOE, VMWARE, ESXi, SNAP mirroring.
- Must be willing/able to work OCONUS for a minimum of one year.
- Familiarity with private cloud virtualization and virtual networks in VMWare environments using hyperflex solutions to support Citrix VDI environments would be desirable.
- ITIL v3 or v4 – Foundation.
- Experience with Citrix licensing.
- Cisco Data Center Certification (CCNA, CCNP).
- Netapp Certification.
- Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
- Understanding of Department of Defense Military standard.
This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork abilities. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining virtual infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
