Who will you collaborate with?

You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and work within a collaborative team. On-site with our client, you will engage closely with their team while serving as the key liaison between Wabtec and the client. This role demands strong teamwork, communication, and the ability to build effective relationships across both organizations.

What does a typical day entail?

The primary objective of the Communication & Control Technician role is to perform routine maintenance on Operation Technology Systems including equipment such as network switches, PLCs, CCTV cameras, access control, passenger information systems, radio systems, workstations, and servers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Client system maintenance, encompassing:
  • Continual improvement of Preventative Maintenance procedures
  • Updates/Upgrades/Installations to Operational Technology (OT) systems
  • System fault diagnosis and troubleshooting
  • OT Network configuration
  • Client system audits
  • Availability to be on a 24x7 after-hours on-call roster ~ 1 week a month
  • Availability to perform ~1 week of night shifts every quarter

What skills do we look for in a candidate?

  • Effective communication skills, including concise verbal abilities, the capacity to write short technical reports, and active listening.
  • Proven ability to provide and receive feedback to foster personal growth and team development.
  • Previous experience with OT systems, CCTV systems (Bosch/Genetec), Audio Systems, Radio Systems, and Network (Cisco).
  • Prior data and/or fibre cabling experience (training provided if necessary)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.
  • A customer-focused approach and ability to work collaboratively with your team.
