Job Overview

The Grounds Maintenance Assistant plays a crucial role in the upkeep of school grounds and buildings, reporting to the Facilities Manager. This temporary contract position is based at two sites: Lake Windemere B-6 School and Para Vista Primary School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including gardens, trees, natural play/learning spaces, and sports fields, ensuring safety and engagement for students.
  • Manage irrigation systems, remove litter and hazards, and perform general handyperson tasks such as repairing locks and furniture.
Essential Requirements
  • Ability to coordinate and develop school grounds with limited supervision.
  • Experience in maintaining safe and engaging grounds environments, using grounds tools and machinery safely.
  • Horticultural experience, including irrigation maintenance and chemical use.
  • Driver's license essential for this position.
