The successful candidate will be a key member of our interdisciplinary team, responsible for providing guidance and oversight to ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident and patient assessments and care plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Operations Management
- Manages and oversees the RAI process and submission process by validating and monitoring reports.
- Develops and implements strategies to optimize resident and patient care through effective planning, organization, and communication with staff members.
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of computer data entry and electronic submission process for MDS transmission.
- Manages Medicare and managed care logs, directing decision making regarding insurance coverage and MDS schedules.
- Monitors skilled resident and patient statuses to maximize reimbursement.
- Participates in care conferences and remains available during surveys and audits of the facility and/or its documentation.
- Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Leads the interdisciplinary team to ensure accurate and timely MDS, CAA, and Plan of Care documentation.
- Provides final review of MDS and Plan of Care documentation, offering education and advice as necessary and provides authorization.
- Maintains and communicates schedule of MDS and Plan of Care due dates.
- Stays up-to-date on changes in documentation regulations, RUG categories, and legislation affecting MDS reimbursement issues.
- Administration and Reporting
- Maximizes reimbursement through team education, planning, and accurate and timely MDS assessments.
- Assists with reviewing and addressing issues with quality measures, survey findings, quality assurance findings, and other findings and/or survey results as assigned.
- People Management and Development
- Serves as a supervisor for MDS Nurses.
- Fosters a positive work environment that attracts, retains, and motivates employees.
- Interviews, selects, and orients new direct reports.
- Evaluates job performance of direct reports in accordance with company policy and procedure and provides developmental guidance to staff for improved performance and growth.
