Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Design Lead to join our client, a leading environmental engineering contractor, in a Design Manager role. As Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of bid preparation for wastewater engineering projects, developing comprehensive design concepts and solutions tailored to client requirements, and collaborating with the business development team to create competitive and compelling proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the technical aspects of bid preparation for wastewater engineering projects
  2. Develop comprehensive design concepts and solutions tailored to client requirements
  3. Collaborate with the business development team to create competitive and compelling proposals
  4. Manage the transition from project award to early-stage delivery, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project goals
  5. Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams, to ensure smooth project initiation
  6. Oversee the detailed design phase of wastewater engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
  7. Supervise and mentor a team of process engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment

Requirements:

  1. Tertiary qualifications / Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  2. Minimum 7 years experience in water, wastewater in a design management or technical project management role
  3. Thorough understanding of wastewater treatment processes, design principles and regulatory requirements in Australia
  4. Proven leader and experience in managing complex projects and teams
