Accountant Position

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill this Accountant role.

This position involves providing expert financial services to clients, including preparing individual tax returns, financial statements, and handling leasing arrangements.

You will be empowered to work independently in a supportive team environment, with a strong ability to meet deadlines and provide high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing individual tax returns, including business schedules and advanced capital gains calculations.
  • Preparing financial statements with complete reconciliations of all accounts.
  • Handling various leasing arrangements, including accounting, taxation treatment, and associated schedules.
  • Navigating GST and FBT tax systems, completing Activity Statements and FBT returns.
  • Handling employee compliance frameworks, including preparing payroll tax returns.
  • Understanding and managing state taxes, including relevant forms and notices.
  • Reviewing and actioning ATO and compliance correspondence with minimal supervision.
  • Communicating with clients to resolve basic queries and matters.
  • Reviewing information provided for tasks, creating handover notes for delegation as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting firm.
  • Progressing towards or completed a Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) or CA qualification.
  • A passion for working collaboratively within a professional team.
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
