High-Voltage Project Manager

Job Title
We are seeking a High-Voltage Project Manager to join our team, with the flexibility to be based in Sydney or Newcastle, NSW. In this role, you will lead the planning, development, and execution of customer-focused projects, including generator connections, telecommunications, and transmission line modifications.
You will be responsible for ensuring technical feasibility, scope definition, and risk assessment are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical leadership, problem-solving, and project coordination to ensure successful outcomes.
A Day in the Life as a High-Voltage Project Manager at Transgrid
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets while identifying and mitigating risks.
- Lead technical coordination, ensuring high-voltage infrastructure designs meet regulatory and operational standards.
- Manage multiple projects, balancing priorities to deliver on time and within budget.
- Engage with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders to align project goals and expectations.
- Ensure all projects comply with safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
About the Role
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline) with relevant industry experience - Preferred background in Electrical Engineering, but Industrial and Civil Engineers with experience in building electrical assets and infrastructure will be considered.
- Proven experience in transmission line and substation projects (development, cost estimation, project management, or design).
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage risks, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.
