About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  1. Daily Living Support: Assist with daily living activities, personal care, and skill development to promote independence.
  2. Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual at all times.
  3. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other support staff, healthcare professionals, and family members to provide consistent and effective care.
  4. Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to manage extreme behaviors, including verbal and physical aggression.
  5. Restrictive Practices: Utilize restrictive practices in accordance with approved positive behavior support plans.
Qualifications and Skills
  1. Experience working with challenging behaviors.
  2. Knowledge and experience with complex mental health needs.
  3. Understanding of ethical restrictive practices.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to stay calm under stress.
  6. Relevant qualifications in Disability Support or Community Services.
  7. First Aid and CPR certification.
  8. Paid Yellow Card and Blue Card, Drivers License – Road Worthy Registered Vehicle (CAR).
