Geologist - QAQC Specialist

The role of Geologist - QAQC Specialist plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and quality of assay data for drilling programs.
This position will oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of QAQC processes across various drilling campaigns.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and analysing QAQC performance daily, mentoring resource definition geologists on assay data ingestion, identifying and investigating any data quality issues, coordinating with geology teams and drilling contractors to ensure correct sample handling, liaising with laboratory service providers to track turnaround times, preparing regular QAQC reports and commentary for use in resource estimation and compliance reporting, contributing to improving assay workflows, and assisting with the onboarding of automation tools.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Geology, Geoscience, or related field required.
- At least 3 years of experience in QAQC-focused roles within mining, exploration, or assay laboratory environments.
- Strong understanding of QAQC principles is essential.
- Experience working with assay data types and iron ore mineralisation styles is required.
- Knowledge of laboratory processes and common assay techniques such as XRF is beneficial.
- High attention to detail is necessary to detect data anomalies and errors.
