About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client, the City of Unley, as a Principal Procurement and Contracts Advisor. As a key member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for leading the development of procurement and contract management strategies that align with the organization's business objectives.

You will work closely with stakeholders to identify cost drivers and develop strategies to reduce costs and optimize supply outcomes. Your expertise in contract law and procurement practices will be essential in ensuring that procurement contracts are effectively managed and that statutory and common law obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support to the procurement team to ensure the effective delivery of procurement and contract management services.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's business objectives.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify cost drivers and develop strategies to reduce costs and optimize supply outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the evaluation of high-value and/or high-risk tenders.
  • Develop and maintain organizational guidelines and procedures for contract management.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical procurement skills and ability to interpret and apply contract law principles.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data accurately and provide information for corporate decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop people to manage work and resources across complex projects.
  • Strong networking skills to achieve effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles.
