Financial Reporting Specialist

A key member of our Finance team, the Claims Accountant plays a vital role in contributing to the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
About the OpportunityThis position involves monitoring accounting activities, including WorkSafe's Authorised Agent accounting, insurance accounting, investment accounting, accrual accounting, sub-ledger accounting, and preparing management reports.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and manage the end-to-end month-end process with precision and efficiency.
- Review, prepare, and manage balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of any discrepancies.
- Engage with Authorised Agents, the Claims Accounting Officer, and system providers to drive continuous improvement, ensure data integrity, clear outstanding items, and address matters related to ACCtion/VPCS.
- Provide finance expertise, procedural training to Authorised Agents' finance staff members, and backfill the Claims Payments Officer.
- Deliver sections of the annual and half-year statutory financial reports in compliance with accounting standards and ministerial directions.
