Job Title: Computer Hardware Specialist
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Computer Hardware Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position with excellent opportunities for career growth and development.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose hardware and software issues to provide effective solutions to technical problems
- Respond to user inquiries and resolve software and hardware-related issues promptly and efficiently
- Customize and adapt existing programs to meet specific user requirements and system configurations
- Install and configure software applications and operating systems on computers and other devices
- Optimize the use of applications and equipment to ensure efficient and reliable performance
- Set up and maintain computer networks, including configuring routers, switches, and network peripherals
- Design, develop, and maintain websites and web applications to support business needs
- Repair and replace peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, and modems as needed
- Conduct hardware upgrades and replacements to enhance system performance and capabilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on computer hardware to prevent potential issues and ensure longevity
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source appropriate hardware and software solutions
- Document hardware and software configurations, changes, and maintenance activities for accurate record-keeping
- Relevant qualifications in IT or related field
- At least 4 years experience as a hardware technician
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience gained in a corporate setting
- At least 2 years' experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting dedicated server hardware, including enterprise-grade racks, blade servers, and high-density compute nodes
- At least 2 years' experience in security hardening of dedicated servers
- At least 2 years' experience with BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware upgrades, and hardware-level virtualization support
- At least 2 years' experience in structured cabling (Cat6/6a, fibre optic splicing, patch panel installation) and rack-mounted hardware setup in enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge on operating a computer and ability to learn new software and hardware
- Understanding of Microsoft applications
- Good at analytical skills especially analysis of technical issues
- Needs to be enthusiastic and have a positive attitude
- Also capable of achieving targets set
