We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Systems Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues with hardware and software systems. Your expertise will help ensure the efficient operation of our IT infrastructure, from troubleshooting problems to implementing solutions.
Main Responsibilities:- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose hardware and software issues to provide effective solutions to technical problems.
- User Support: Respond to user inquiries and resolve software and hardware-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Customization: Customize and adapt existing programs to meet specific user requirements and system configurations.
- Installation and Configuration: Install and configure software applications and operating systems on computers and other devices.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize the use of applications and equipment to ensure efficient and reliable performance.
- Network Setup and Maintenance: Set up and maintain computer networks, including configuring routers, switches, and network peripherals.
- Web Development: Design, develop, and maintain websites and web applications to support business needs.
- Equipment Repair and Replacement: Repair and replace peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, and modems as needed.
- Hardware Upgrades: Conduct hardware upgrades and replacements to enhance system performance and capabilities.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on computer hardware to prevent potential issues and ensure longevity.
- Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source appropriate hardware and software solutions.
- Documentation: Document hardware and software configurations, changes, and maintenance activities for accurate record-keeping.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Relevant Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in IT or related field.
- Experience: At least 4 years experience as a hardware technician.
- Professional Experience: At least 4 years of relevant professional experience gained in a corporate setting.
- Server Experience: At least 2 years' experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting dedicated server hardware, including enterprise-grade racks, blade servers, and high-density compute nodes.
- Security Hardening: At least 2 years' experience in security hardening of dedicated servers.
- BIOS/UEFI Configuration: At least 2 years' experience with BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware upgrades, and hardware-level virtualization support.
- Cabling and Rack Mounting: At least 2 years' experience in structured cabling (Cat6/6a, fibre optic splicing, patch panel installation) and rack-mounted hardware setup in enterprise environments.
- Analytical Skills: Strong knowledge of operating a computer and ability to learn new software and hardware.
- Microsoft Applications: Understanding of Microsoft applications.
- Communication Skills: Good analytical skills, especially in analysis of technical issues.
