Job Summary:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical professional responsible for deep content knowledge about neurology, Lilly, treatment options, and current issues in this therapeutic area. The MSL recognises and communicates feedback and insights of strategic importance from their interactions with scientific experts to better inform Lilly's strategic direction for research and commercialization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and effectively communicate deep scientific knowledge by engaging in continuous learning to maintain the highest level of technical expertise within neurology. This enables the MSL to answer deep scientific questions and be sought after by customers based on peer-credible knowledge and expertise.
- Excel at customer engagement by providing medical/scientific information needs of scientific experts. Through the application of emotional intelligence and a deep understanding of their customers, the MSL acts as one of the primary interfaces between Lilly medical and scientific experts to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Strategic vision and leadership involve synthesizing complex data and effectively communicating meaningful clinical insights and unanswered customer questions received from scientific experts to Lilly medical and cross-functional teams.
- Territory ownership requires demonstrating strategic analysis, planning, and prioritization to maximize efficiency, implementing and evaluating a strategic territory plan prioritizing core MSL activities, and taking personal accountability for results.
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD in a medically related field) is required with 2-3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience.
- Intellectual curiosity about the field of science/medicine for which they are responsible.
- Learning agility to comprehend and effectively communicate large amounts of complex scientific content in a clear and concise fashion.
- Self-directed and able to work alone in the field, effectively managing multiple priorities and projects.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including high emotional intelligence and the ability to engage in professional relationship building and networking.
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum (estimated)
Location: Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia
