This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Protective Security Officer to join the Government of New South Wales, within the Department of Customer Service.
The successful candidate will support security processes and operations for the NSW Telco Authority at multiple, geographically dispersed sites across the state. The position will contribute to the identification, prioritisation and management of security risks to prevent harm to official resources, information, and disruption to business objectives, and to embed effective protective security policies and practices across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities- Apply Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and related standards to the physical security of NSWTA facilities and sites to protect our assets and personnel.
- Develop and maintain facility security plans including the documentation of security measures and procedures and maintenance of records related to security activities, audits, and updates.
- Conduct physical security compliance reviews of NSWTA facilities and sites to ensure adherence to established security protocols and standards.
- Implement physical security solutions at NSWTA facilities and sites, including CCTV, security alarm systems (SAS) and electronic access control systems (EACS).
- Coordinate administrative functions related to physical security projects, including procurement, contract management and budget management.
- Contribute to building a strong security culture within NSWTA by assisting in the development and delivery of training, including security awareness and education programs.
- Develop, maintain and review physical protective security policies and procedures.
- Contribute to enterprise security risk assessments incorporating threat, vulnerability, and criticality assessments and maintain the organisational security governance framework.
- Ensure accurate reporting of security incidents and conduct post incident reviews to capture lessons and provide timely recommendations on adapting policies and procedures to minimise identified risks.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with approved contractors, key internal and external stakeholders and other business partners to deliver security related preventative and reactive maintenance and other related services.
- Remain current with security legislation and policy and support the transfer of knowledge to other staff, contractors and stakeholders.
- Extensive experience and knowledge in protective security, incident management, intelligence or a related field.
- Proven experience in conducting security risk and threat assessments and a thorough understanding of risk assessment standards and methodology.
- A strong understanding of the Protective Security Policy Framework.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance - To be eligible to apply for this role, you must be an Australian citizen and, as a condition of employment, obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance at the level specified for this role.
