Assistant Director of Internal Audit

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Internal Audit to join our team at the National Disability Insurance Agency. As a key member of our Audit Branch, you will play a critical role in providing independent and objective assurance and consulting to the Agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of engagement plans and contribute to annual internal audit planning
- Conduct operational, financial, and compliance audit engagements to improve governance, risk management, and internal controls
- Manage and undertake internal audits end to end
- Supervise and support the team with conducting interviews, completing the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM), and presenting and negotiating audit findings/issues
- Prepare internal audit reports for the Board, the Audit & Risk Committee, and Management
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in conducting internal audits, risk management, and controls
- Strong communication and stakeholder relationship-building skills
- Ability to convey information clearly and concisely in plain English
- Attention to detail and analytical skills
- Relevant academic qualifications and membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA), or other equivalent professional finance bodies
