About the Role:

The Women's and Children's Health Network has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join our HaRTSS division.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering social work services to individuals, families, and communities who have been subjected to rape or sexual assault.

You will assist with managing issues such as trauma, mental health, substance abuse, and family problems.

Additionally, you will contribute to research initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective social work services to people of all genders, 16 years and over, who have experienced rape or sexual assault.
  • Assist with the management of trauma, mental health, substance abuse, and family problems.
  • Contribute to and support various research initiatives and projects.

Requirements:

  • Degree in social and health sciences or public health/primary health care, or eligibility for membership of a professional association (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience working in crisis and trauma situations.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a cohesive team culture.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide crisis and long-term counseling and group work services.
  • Feminist and human rights frameworks for understanding and responding to sexual violence and abuse.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
