About the Role:

Cognizant is seeking an experienced ETL Data Warehouse Lead to join our team. As an ETL Data Warehouse Lead, you will be responsible for performing end-to-end data warehouse testing for large programs. This includes liaising with Business Stakeholders to understand requirements, preparing test strategies, identifying testable scenarios, and creating test cases based on the understanding of the requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing E2E data warehouse testing for large programs.
  • Liaise with BSA to understand the requirements.
  • Prepare test strategy.
  • Identify testable scenarios (test scenario document).
  • Create/update the Requirements traceability matrix with test scenarios.
  • Identify test cases for automation and seek sign off from customer.
  • Create test cases based on the understanding of the requirements.
  • Create/modify the SQL test scripts as per the ETL mapping documents and technical specifications & requirements.
  • Run the jobs and perform smoke testing.
  • Execute automation test scripts/manual test cases.
  • Record and maintain testing evidence and track execution status of assigned test cases.
  • Identify defects and log failures.
  • Track defects (defect log as generated from the QC tool/JIRA Tool) to closure.
  • Participate in the defect triages to gather evidence for defect identification on periodic basis for defect prioritization and fix.
  • Retest the defect and update the status.
  • Internal review and share for stakeholder review and feedback. Collaborate closely with BA & development team.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience of ETL and Datawarehouse Testing using AWS/Azure Cloud services.
  • SQL, Unix, VB Scripting, Oracle, Snowflake, Redshift.
  • Technical skills on SQL query, data modelling and data pipeline is essential for this role.
  • Understanding complex business problems/requirements to develop test cases.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology.
  • Hands on use of the Atlassian toolset of JIRA, Confluence Bitbucket, Jenkins and GIT
  • Big Data Stack (Apache Spark, Hive, HBase), MongoDB, Python
  • Insurance Domain Knowledge.
  • Data migration projects with Insurance COTS products like Guidewire and Evolve.
