Senior Ecologist Position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Ecologist to join our dynamic and experienced team based out of either Coffs Harbour or Lennox Head offices.

  • This role will involve assisting the ecological team in problem-solving and devising solutions to complex ecological issues.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science or related discipline, with a minimum eight (8) to ten (10) plus years of professional experience in ecological or environmental consulting. They will also possess advanced GIS skills, expertise in flora and fauna identification, and extensive experience in delivering all aspects and scales of ecological field surveys and statutory assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the ecological team in problem-solving and devising solutions to complex ecological issues.
  • Prepare proposals, review reports, or conduct field investigations across various terrestrial ecosystems.
  • Contribute to high-level reporting, provide ecological advice, and support the identification of environmental constraints and opportunities across multiple projects.
  • Mentor GeoLINK staff and work with and/or lead inter-disciplinary project teams.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum eight (8) to ten (10) plus years of professional experience in ecological or environmental consulting.
  • Proven ability to write clear, concise, and scientifically accurate reports.
  • Advanced GIS skills and expertise in flora and fauna identification.
  • Extensive experience in delivering all aspects and scales of ecological field surveys and statutory assessments.
