Job Summary:

We are on a mission to make quality advice more accessible and affordable for all Australians. As a Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping and enhancing our HUBconnect Licensee product, leveraging your expertise in SQL, data, reporting and software engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product and Delivery teams to onboard new customers and interpret their data needs.
  • Translate business requirements into robust development, implementation, and integration solutions across the HUBconnect Licensee product.
  • Design, develop and enhance ETL processes and data transformation pipelines.
  • Partner with testers, analysts, business stakeholders and technical leads to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing systems and processes.
  • Upskill in modern data technologies such as Databricks and DBT, with opportunities to contribute to full-stack development and broaden your engineering capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Software Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts and database design principles, particularly in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Advanced SQL development skills, with proven experience creating stored procedures, views, functions and triggers in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Exposure to Modern Data Stacks, with specific experience in Databricks highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in C# for building Web Services, Microservices and ETL functions using Visual Studio.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience using testing tools such as Postman or similar automation platforms.
  • Familiarity with Git and Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience working within an Agile (SCRUM) development environment.
  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Apigee Web Services is desirable.
