About the Role

Rio Tinto is seeking a seasoned Product Manager to lead the development and delivery of our Simulation digital platforms. As the key contact for these products, you will be responsible for translating business and technical needs into a scalable software product that delivers demonstrable user and business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the key point of contact for Simulation product development and demand in the domain
  • Lead a small team of Technical Product Managers engaging in product development
  • Collaborate with Domain Leaders, Product Groups, Centres of Excellence, and Technical Product Managers to ensure that products meet end-user requirements
  • Develop compelling product propositions and determine strategic positioning to optimize business processes
  • Exhibit a forward-thinking mindset, constantly envisioning future states of the product in alignment with evolving business conditions and strategies
  • Monitor product performance continuously to ensure it meets desired business outcomes and adjust strategies as necessary
  • Provide oversight to fusion teams within Digital Products, working closely with Design, Engineering, Data & Analytics, and Product Operations
  • Lead the planning and execution of scoping, requirements definition, and prioritization for complex initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Build and maintain trust with stakeholders through consistent, high-quality product delivery, and effective communication
  • Partner and coach technical product managers to develop a robust pipeline of opportunities that solve a wide range of high-value use cases across the domain
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to secure the necessary tools, technologies, and services that enhance product capabilities and support strategic objectives

Requirements

  • A commitment to safety and a strong understanding of product lifecycle management
  • Significant product management experience, preferably with digital solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of dynamic simulation and other advanced analytical techniques
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations to both technical and business audiences
  • Broad understanding of business partnering and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
