Technical Advisor - Construction Sector

We are seeking a skilled Technical Advisor to join our team in Townsville. This role would be an excellent opportunity for a construction professional or works officer looking to transition into a more technical advisory position within a government agency.

Duties:

  • Liaising with stakeholders regarding government infrastructure, schools, hospitals and other public buildings.
  • Assigning priority to breakdowns and providing guidance on repair decisions to contractors.
  • Reviewing condition reports submitted by contractors and monitoring progress.
  • Reporting on the status of maintenance tasks and undertaking site inspections.

About You:

  • A trade qualification is essential for this role.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including creating spreadsheets to track construction tenders.
  • Experience in tendering and costing for the construction industry is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively interact with customers and internal staff.
