The role involves delivering high-quality teaching and research in transport engineering, with a focus on emerging technologies such as predictive modelling, real-time traffic analytics, and autonomous vehicle integration.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and research in transport engineering;
- Contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs and curricula;
- Engage in high-impact research and scholarly activity aligned with ARC fellowship appointments;
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and participate in service activities within the School and University;
- Supervise and mentor students where appropriate and contribute to student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives;
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and opportunities for work-integrated learning and external engagement;
Requirements:
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience;
- Proven commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments;
- Experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level;
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods;
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence, including curriculum design and development across varied levels and scales;
- Demonstrated research track record with high-quality, impactful outcomes and potential for leadership in research;
- Involvement with the profession and/or industry;
- Strong communication and networking skills with a diverse range of students and staff;
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and across disciplines;
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills;
- Commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives, values, and related policies and guidelines;
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and willingness to undertake relevant training;
What We Offer:
This is a full-time, fixed-term position (4 years) based in Kensington – Sydney, Australia. The role reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.
