As a Housing/Shelter Support Worker at Our Place Society, you will play a critical role in providing direct support to clients with complex needs. You will work collaboratively with our team to identify clients' problems, needs, and risks, and develop individualized plans to address these challenges.

**Job Description**

The ideal candidate will have a diploma in a related human/social service field and a minimum of one year recent experience in a similar role. They will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and show initiative.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with resident support plan development and delivery of services
  • Developing rapport and trusting relationships with residents
  • Performing wellness checks and participating in shelter setup and cleanup
  • Distributing harm reduction supplies and assisting with activities such as room cleans
  • Collaborating with the team to engage residents and provide support

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A diploma in a related human/social service field
  • A minimum of one year recent experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently and show initiative
  • Basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

**Benefits**

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $27.54 to $31.61, plus an additional $1.00 per hour for overnight shifts. You will also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental coverage, after completion of your probationary period.
