Job Overview

We are seeking a Category Advisor Professional to support the lifecycle strategic procurement advice and execution across our Corporate Spend portfolio focusing predominantly on IT initiatives.

The role is responsible for undertaking procurement activities (sourcing and contract management tasks), maintaining and improving supplier arrangements, supporting stakeholders, and servicing internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing market engagement activities and coordinating internal resources to support these programs while ensuring high standards of ethics and probity are maintained.
  • Providing sound and trustworthy advice to key internal clients on procurement and contractual matters in a fact-based, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Assisting in developing long-term strategies for relevant categories through detailed Procurement Strategy Plans.
  • Managing and maintaining supplier and contract-related risks, policy, and governance requirements.
  • Providing business stakeholders with a point of escalation for systemic contractual or commercial issues, including commercial and contractual negotiations and resolving supplier disputes.
  • Providing expert advice on key supplier contractual matters across the IT portfolio and supporting the execution of extensions, exemptions, variations, and terminations of legal instruments that meet stakeholders' business needs.
About You

You have a strong background in procurement and sourcing, preferably in a tier 1 consulting, corporate, or government organization. You have experience in the IT environment, including hardware, network, and telecommunications services, professional IT services, software, and systems architecture, design, and data services.

  • Demonstrated experience managing strategic projects in a complex and changing organization.
  • A proven history of successfully closing out and executing major projects in a timely manner.
  • Well-developed judgement and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to show initiative and innovation in developing solutions and managing issues.
  • Exemplary stakeholder and relationship management at all levels.
