About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Architect to join our team at Luxury Escapes. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and guiding the development of robust, scalable, and secure systems that handle millions of transactions, enabling seamless customer experiences across our platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop large-scale, high-availability systems using modern technologies and cloud-based architectures.
  • Drive the technical direction of the company by making key decisions on architecture, tools, and frameworks that support product innovation and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to align technical solutions with business needs and ensure high-impact delivery.
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of growth, learning, and collaboration, while ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and system design are upheld.
  • Own the end-to-end performance and reliability of our platform, implementing strategies for monitoring, tuning, and scaling.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Principal Architect or Lead Software Engineer, with a track record of successfully architecting and building large-scale systems.
  • Deep knowledge of modern technologies, including cloud-based architectures (such as AWS or GCP), and microservices.
  • Strong ability to think creatively, adapt quickly to change, and solve complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant skills in JavaScript/Node.js/Typescript, React, SQL, RESTful API design, automated testing, and continuous integration.
