Role Overview:

As a vital member of the Cultural Heritage team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to cultural heritage laws and guidelines, including the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 (WA) and other relevant regulations. Your efforts will be instrumental in safeguarding and managing heritage values through the effective execution and oversight of our Cultural Heritage Management System.

Candidate Profile:

  • Possess a relevant qualification and a proven track record in cultural heritage management.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting heritage surveys and collaborating closely with Traditional Owners.
  • Expertise in developing and enforcing cultural heritage protection and management protocols.
  • Assist in the execution of heritage due diligence and compliance documentation for operations.
  • Proficient in GIS and other pertinent software for heritage evaluations and data management.
  • Experience in navigating complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong understanding of applicable federal and state heritage legislation, with experience in securing Aboriginal heritage approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the implementation and continuous management of the cultural heritage management system across operations.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders regarding cultural heritage protection and management for significant projects and assets.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of heritage surveys and assessments across business operations.
  • Oversee and audit heritage management practices to ensure compliance and promote ongoing improvement.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with Traditional Owners by organizing and facilitating on-country activities.
  • Support the processing of approvals to fulfill statutory requirements and assist in managing heritage and environmental values.
