Fire Safety Officer

Job Description:

As a Fire Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals within the local government area. You will contribute to the delivery of growth through professional development and certification assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess applications for Class 1b and 2-9 buildings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Review processes and procedures to improve service delivery, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Apply ethical principles and best practices in all aspects of your work, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), and customer service skills.
Requirements:
  • Hold an Advanced Diploma or tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying.
  • Be registered with the NSW Office of Fair Trading as a Building Surveyor, covering all classes of buildings.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of the National Construction Code - Building Code of Australia.
