Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook Chinese dishes using techniques such as stir-frying, deep-frying, steaming, braising, and boiling.
  • Season food during the cooking process using authentic Chinese spices, sauces, and flavorings.
  • Portion food accurately and present it in a visually appealing manner.
  • Manage and regulate cooking equipment temperatures to ensure optimal cooking conditions.
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients, adhering to food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
  • Participate in menu design and updates, proposing new dishes and improvements to meet market demand and customer preferences.
  • Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of kitchen equipment, performing regular cleaning and maintenance.
  • Train new kitchen staff in cooking techniques and workflow to maintain consistency and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Certificate III or higher qualification in Cookery.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Cook, preferably in Chinese cuisine, with a strong understanding of hotpot preparation.
  • Knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Fluent Mandarin speaking preferred.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
