About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled Investigators to join our team at the Australian Fair Work Ombudsman. As an Investigator, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with workplace laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations into potential breaches of the Fair Work Act and other legislation.
  • Collaborate with a team of experts to deliver strategically aligned and efficient compliance and enforcement outcomes.
  • Analyse large amounts of documents and information to distil complex issues and recommendations.
  • Prepare project plans, briefs, and reports to support investigation findings.
  • Exercise compliance powers, including the use of coercive powers under the Fair Work Act.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, workplace relations, and/or investigations.
  • Experience conducting or responding to large or complex regulatory investigations.
  • Professional services experience in areas such as payroll compliance, wage remediation programs, and/or workplace relations compliance.
  • Knowledge and/or professional experience in the Fair Work Act and the Australian workplace relations system.
