We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team. As a Metal Fabricator, you will play a key role in the maintenance and construction of our facilities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning: Review drawings or specifications to understand project requirements and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Material Selection: Select and prepare the correct metals and materials for the project based on requirements and industry standards.
  • Structural Repair: Repair damaged or old greenhouse structures by cutting out and replacing worn sections using hand tools or machinery.
  • Measurement and Marking: Accurately measure and mark metal sections prior to cutting & shaping to ensure precision and quality.
  • Quality Control: Inspect completed welding projects to ensure they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Metal Shaping: Roland bend or press metal pieces into shapes using hand tools or machinery to create custom components.
  • Assembly and Fitting: Join or assemble pre-cut metal components to create sub-assemblies or finished products according to specifications.
  • Cleaning and Finishing: Clean smooth and remove excess material using filing chiselling or grinding techniques to produce high-quality finishes.

To be successful in this role, you will require an AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training or an AQF Certificate IV ANZSCO Skill Level 3. You should also have experience in welding using MIG TIG arc welding or gas welding to join metals. Additionally, you should have knowledge of hand and power tools required for cutting metal into shapes and sizes, as well as knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety procedures to ensure all work is undertaken in a safe manner.
