Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled electrical engineer to contribute to innovative projects in the marine sector. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for assessing and advising on key electrical system technical risks.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in marine electrical power generation and distribution systems, with a positive attitude and an ability to influence thinking and advocate for project interests across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and advise on key electrical system technical risks
  • Support the review of technical deliverables from contractors
  • Review calculations applying electrical engineering principles, techniques, procedures, and criteria for naval ship designs
  • Engage with combat system delivery participants to address provision of combat system electrical requirements and establish associated interfaces
  • Mentor and share experience and lessons with project team personnel to advance electrical engineering skills and system knowledge within the technical team

The successful applicant is required to hold a valid security clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain one as well as undergo mandatory background checks including a National Police check.

Requirements
  • Degree-qualified electrical or marine systems engineer with strong knowledge and experience in marine electrical power generation and distribution systems
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and decision authorities and explain complex positions and issues
  • A positive attitude with an ability to influence thinking and advocate for project interests across multiple stakeholders
  • An ability to mentor and share experience and lessons with project team membership to build electrical engineering skills and abilities in the project team
