In partnership with key defence stakeholders, we provide aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on advanced surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms.
As a Senior Subcontracts Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving effective market engagement and subcontract management on vital Defence programs. Your expertise will ensure seamless collaboration between project managers, legal teams, functional departments, engineering groups, and commercial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Draft, negotiate and manage commercial agreements including non-disclosure agreements, development, manufacturing, and support services contracts;
- Provide guidance to project managers and other business stakeholders on all subcontracting activities related to your program of work;
- Liaise with Legal, Functional, Engineering, and Commercial teams;
- Develop procurement strategies and priorities and lead their delivery through strong stakeholder relationships and understanding program requirements;
- Conduct complex approach to market activities (requests for information), analyze and evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate supplier deviations to subcontract provisions, and recommend final supplier selection;
- Monitor and report subcontract cost, schedule, and status and recommend or implement corrective action as necessary;
- Ensure supplier activities are compliant with applicable regulatory trade control (export-import) requirements;
- A minimum 5-8 years' experience in supplier management and/or sourcing with exposure to procurement contract terms and conditions;
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contract law;
- Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills to drive outcomes;
- Demonstrated experience in the Defence industry is desirable;
- Tertiary Education in Commerce, Law, or Business or relevant experience;
- High level competency in written and oral communication and standard business tools and systems;
- An enthusiasm for working with suppliers and identifying new opportunities and relationships;
- The ability to work with cross-functional teams;
- The ability to work autonomously to see projects and opportunities through to completion;
This role can be based at any of our major sites.
