Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Forensic Accountant to join our Financial Investigations Division (FID) as a Senior Forensic Accountant. This role will involve managing complex financial investigations, providing high-level forensic accounting advice, and participating in multi-disciplinary team investigations.

Salary and Benefits

As a Senior Forensic Accountant, you can expect a salary of approximately $140,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also be entitled to flexible working conditions, a commitment to a diverse workplace, and opportunities for professional development.

About the Role

The Senior Forensic Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Managing concurrent confiscation matters involving serious and complex financial structures;
  • Providing high-level forensic accounting advice to investigators and prosecutors;
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary team investigations, including planning, conducting, and overseeing financial aspects of investigations;
  • Identifying systemic problems and risks and additional potential targets for confiscation;
  • Assisting, supporting, and guiding colleagues in all aspects of financial investigations.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree qualification and/or relevant experience in forensic accounting or another relevant discipline;
  • Substantial experience as a forensic accountant or financial investigator with a proven track record recovering proceeds of crime and/or investigating income or other tax evasion, insolvency, etc.;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Security clearance issued by the Commissioner and Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
