Role Overview

The Disability Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care, including showering, toileting, and dressing, to meet the individual needs and goals of our participants.
  • Prepare and assist with meal preparation and eating, ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Administer medication and provide mobility assistance, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Support participants with attendance at appointments and community-based events, fostering social connections and community engagement.
  • Offer meaningful and active support to enable participants to achieve their goals, promoting empowerment and self-advocacy.

Requirements

  • Experience in the disability sector, with a focus on supporting individuals with challenging behaviors.
  • Alignment with The Disability Trust's values and a strong work ethic, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of people, with well-developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality, with the ability to treat sensitive information appropriately.
  • Confidence using technical platforms to complete shift notes, incident reporting, and electronic timesheets.

  • An hourly rate ranging from $33.41 to $36.46 per hour for permanent, and $41.76 - $45.58 per hour for casual, plus attractive penalty rates.
