Production Leadership Role

This role will oversee the operational management of a mining site, responsible for leading a team to achieve strategic objectives in safety, environment, cost, and equipment performance.

The successful candidate will effectively monitor systems and business processes applicable to the role, identify improvement opportunities and formulate alternatives and improvements to methods.

  • Manage Shift Undermanagers and Engineering Coordinators to support the implementation of the mine plan
  • Review compliance with the daily plan and ensure corrective actions have taken place
  • Liaise with other Superintendents to achieve targets
  • Provide input into mine planning and budgeting process
  • Manage team meetings and develop effective communication strategies
  • Establish boundaries of responsibility and accountability for all team members

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Diploma in Underground Coal Mining Management
  • Current Practising Certificate
  • 10+ years management experience in the mining industry or similar
  • Risk Management qualifications (G2/G3)
  • ICAM basics – Accident/Incident Investigation
  • Certificate IV Leadership & Management
  • Strong understanding of mine safety and environmental systems
  • Sound computer literacy skills and geological/geotechnical knowledge
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance record
  • Commitment to site safety and operational practices
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal suited to multiple audiences
