Job Details

The role of a Waste Management Operative involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team undertaking various waste management duties.

  • Cleanliness and waste collection operations
  • Maintenance of public places and council assets, including public toilets and bus shelters
  • Litter collection and clean-up activities
  • General tasks as directed by the team leader
Main Responsibilities:
  • Interpreting and adhering to written procedures and verbal instructions
  • Operating and maintaining equipment used for cleanliness duties
  • Collaborating with colleagues to maintain a positive work environment and team culture
  • Promoting and protecting the council's image and reputation
Requirements:
  • Holding or obtaining an MR truck license prior to commencement
  • Availability for regular rostered weekend work (overtime paid)
  • Exercising sound judgment and attention to detail
  • Being proactive and accountable for services provided
Key Performance Indicators:

Regularly inspect and report on cleanliness standards, promptly addressing any issues identified. Maintain accurate records of daily activities and submit reports as required.
