The Role

As a Contracts Officer, you will play a critical role in negotiating and managing contracts related to research and commercial projects. Your responsibilities will include handling contract preparation, negotiation with external partners, ensuring compliance with contract terms, and providing ongoing support throughout the contract lifecycle. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth contract management and ensure project milestones are met efficiently.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Manage and negotiate research contracts and agreements with external partners.
  • Support project teams with budget preparation and compliance with organisational policies.
  • Assist in coordinating legal instructions and ensuring contract milestones are adhered to.
  • Maintain records and track contract performance, ensuring all obligations are met.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual matters to both internal teams and external partners.

About You

We are seeking a professional with a strong background in contract management, ideally within research, government, education or related sectors. Your experience in contract negotiation and administration will be essential in helping drive successful outcomes. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, alongside the ability to work effectively under pressure, are key to succeeding in this role.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous and recent experience in relevant contract management experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
