As a Correctional Services Professional with Ventia, you will play a vital part in creating a safe and secure environment for detainees. Your role involves ensuring their welfare needs are met while consistently upholding a professional and respectful demeanour.

Our team of Correctional Services Professionals work together to provide a safe and secure environment for detainees. Your contributions will make a real impact on the lives of detainees and help us uphold a professional and respectful demeanor.

This role is an opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in correctional services, with a fully funded Certificate 3 in Correctional Services. You will have the chance to enhance your abilities and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport and supervise detainees during critical activities
  • Participate in court activities for security requirements
  • Manage conflict and communicate with empathy, making a positive impact on the lives of detainees
  • Value diversity and display a fair and open-minded attitude towards detainees in custody
  • Provide safety and security for Persons in Custody, staff, employees, and members of the public
  • Enjoy the variety of performing walking and mobile patrols of a designated area
  • Be responsible for supervising people in custody, escorting them to appointments or court appearances, and maintaining accurate records

Requirements

  • Availability to train full time for 6 weeks in Perth (Fully Funded)
  • Commitment to a minimum of 12 months to obtain qualifications: We value your dedication and commitment to your professional growth
  • The legal right to work in Australia
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol test: Ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members and detainees is our top priority
