The role of a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is available in our team.

At Busways, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual who will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles. The successful applicant will work closely with our workshop staff to ensure that all maintenance work is performed according to company procedures and industry standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:

Diagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, repairing, assembling the fleet

and ensuring safety, quality and Busways standards are followed at all times.

  • Maintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer's guidelines
  • Ensuring all maintenance work is performed according to company procedures
  • Attend breakdowns and carry out any field related mechanical repairs
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate any safety or maintenance issues
  • Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties
  • Maintaining clean workshop practices
  • Reporting and repairing all accident damage as required
  • Performing ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed

Job Requirements:

The successful applicant will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Hold the relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential
  • Certificate III in commercial vehicle mechanical technology or above
  • Have experience in the service and maintenance of vehicles
  • Ensure adherence and understanding to WHS regulations and relevant company policies
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have experience working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules
  • Apply a proactive approach with a drive for continuous improvement
  • Be physically fit to carry out the necessities of the role
  • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Hold a current Unrestricted Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State
